Tekpak’s Quad Cell Pick and Place for Transdermal Patches is an automated high-speed system designed to meet the demands of pharmaceutical production lines. It focuses on precise vision inspection, accurate counting, and efficient pick and place handling of small circular transdermal patches, ensuring accuracy and speed throughout the process.

Patches are verified by a camera-based vision inspection system for position, alphanumeric data, and quality. Defective patches are automatically diverted to a reject bin, while in-spec patches are quickly handled by multi-pick delta robots within the quad-cell design. A secondary vision inspection verifies the underside of the patch, maintaining high product standards.

In-spec patches are counted and collated by servo collators and then placed into carton board sleeves. Batch data printing and hot-melt glue sealing ensure secure packaging. The system’s four delta robots provide precise handling, maximizing throughput and minimizing downtime.

Constructed from stainless steel 304 and designed to GMP standards, the system includes fail-safe sensors and a safety control system to protect both product integrity and operator safety. Fully compliant with 21 CFR Part 11 and prepared for SCADA integration, it offers full traceability and seamless integration into pharmaceutical production environments.
